Carbonflow hosts its SaaS products using Amazon Web Services. This includes using the Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) to create a true virtual computing environment. EC2 provides a simple web service interface that enables Carbonflow to obtain and configure capacity with minimal friction. It reduces the time required to obtain and start new server instances to minutes, allowing us to quickly scale capacity, both up and down, as our computing requirements change.

We use advanced security mechanisms to insure that data is segmented by customer and only available to their employees and other pre-authorized users. All information transmitted to and from our site is encrypted using well-respected algorithms. To insure we have a secure audit trail of activities, we maintain a persistent “eRecord” that captures all changes to data and documents. Our software and database are archived several times a day in multiple locations so information in our system is 99.999999999 durable. The security controls in our data center are evaluated every six months by an independent auditor in accordance with Statement on Auditing Standards No. 70 (SAS70) Type II audit procedures.

Our software must be available 24 x 365. Our data center provider guarantees 99.99% availability of our computers and software. This equates to less than one hour of downtime per year. Onsite operators provide 24 x 365 coverage to detect possible incidents and manage their rapid resolution. In the case of an emergency we can move our software to other computer servers or even to another data center in a matter of minutes.
